April Updates and Online Training Plans
First of all, Happy St. Patricks Day! Hope everyone had a safe one and you’re not vomiting up green beer today. I’ve got a few updates for April and wanted to share some plans I have for later this summer too. The April updates really only affect those who live in Tampa and train or will train with me in person. The second plans I have for later in the summer are for everyone. So get excited.
I’m in the process of taking over another personal training business and hoping it will take effect by the beginning of April. I’ll then be training in the back studio all by myself, which gives us privacy, our own equipment, and our own music system. We’ll also have an outside area out back where you’ll be flipping tractor tires, running, lunging, and all kinds of really exciting stuff! I’m now taking on groups up to 4 people as well! The rates for the small groups are:
- 2 people – 40 per person
- 3 people – 30 per person
- 4 people – 25 per person
If you drive a car worth over $75,000 your rates are double those above. Kidding kidding. All packages are going to be sold in groups of 10 sessions as well, whether you come 2 times a week or 3 times a week. If you’re considering starting up with me, now would be the time to contact me and get in the gym because once I take over the back room, I’ll also be taking on his clients, filling up my schedule.
As far as my future plans go, nothing will change in the gym. I’m planning on adding Online Training for those of you who are not local. It will all be done here on my site and will be an “access” type of program. You’ll be offered access to a monthly workout for a small monthly fee. Each workout will be a month long and then the next month, the workout will be completely different. The workouts will vary month to month to keep your body guessing and not falling into any set routine. Look for this to be up during the summer…all the details haven’t been ironed out, but I wanted to let you know so you can be looking for it!
So there you have it…you’re all updated. Until next time, get jacked and ripped!

A Healthier And Happier New Year!
Hope nobody’s been holding their breath for my next blog because you’re dead if so. But I’m back and my New Year’s Resolution is to blog more! Just kidding, but I’ll do my best…between eating and taking my dog out to go to the bathroom, I don’t have much time. But here’s to a healthier and more active lifestyle in 2012! I’m sure everybody makes that their resolution or goal. But they make that goal with no idea how they’re going to do it. So I’m going to give you some ideas on how to make healthier decisions and get some more exercise, no matter if your goals are weight related or not!
Solution #1: Call me and set up an appointment…or your local personal trainer! If you’re needing to tune up your car, you’re better off taking it to a professional if you don’t know what you’re doing, right? Either find a personal training studio (which I recommend), or join your local gym and ask about their trainers there.
Solution #2: Get out and exercise everyday. To say you don’t have 30 minutes a day to invest in your own health is a lie and you’re making excuses for not having to do it. In psychology it’s called “rationalization”…an unconscious defense mechanism to justify not having to do something. Walk quickly, run, jump, skate, fly…anything. Just get out and exercise everyday. Do it seven (7) days a week. Even little things count, such as taking the stairs instead of the elevator everyday. Or get a dog that requires a lot of exercise!
Solution #3: Go out to eat less and cook more. Be in control of what you put in your mouth. Yeah you might get the chicken breast at Outback but you know how much butter and crap they cook with? Cook in bulk on your day off and package it up for the week. I’ve learned to use a crock pot which involves no learning at all. Just throw your food in and get it out that evening. Package it up and you’re good to go for a few days. Restaurant lunches/dinners are caloric bombs, sometimes reaching into the 2 to 3,000 calorie range. Don’t believe me? Here’s a chicken and shrimp dinner at Olive Garden: http://www.dietfacts.com/html/nutrition-facts/olive-garden-chicken-and59754.htm. It’s got 1440 calories, 3,000mg of sodium (over your whole daily intake), and 88g of fat. EIGHTY EIGHT grams of fat. More than you need in an entire day. Oh did you have a breadstick, appetizer, drink other than water, dessert, or ANY other meals that day? Point made. Cook more.
Solution #4: Drink more water and eat more fiber. Having a glass or two of water before a meal gives you the feeling of being full and keeps you from over-eating. Eating fibrous foods fill you up as well, along with giving you the macronutrients your body needs.
Solution #5: Drink less alcohol. It’s not even the alcohol most of the time that’s the worst. It’s what you’re mixing your alcohol in. If you go out and have 5 rum and cokes, you’re drinking at least 3 to 4 cans of soda which is about 100g of sugar. And guess what happens to that sugar? It turns to fat. But Nick, I drink diet soda! Save it. You’re downing Aspartame which is WORSE for you than real sugar. Makes you fatter AND is a carcinogenic. Find a mixer such as sparkling water (soda water) and save yourself some sugar and calories. Beer is heavy carbs and calories. Wines are loaded with sugar as well. Limit yourself on those or cut them out completely until you’ve seen major results. I have clients who have cut out alcohol altogether and their belly fat fell right off. Your liver will thank you too.
So there you have it – 5 ways to kickstart a healthier lifestyle! Small daily adjustments add up and if you keep a positive attitude and work hard, you WILL reach your goals. Spend more money and time on your own body, because if you don’t, you won’t have money and time to spend on other things. Have a safe New Years Eve this weekend and we’ll catch you on the flipside!
Boom.
**November Changes!**
Hey y’all! Wanted to fill you in on some changes that are going to take place Novemeber 1st. Starting next month, bootcamp will no longer be held at Marjorie Park. The city decided they wanted to try and step and in and just kinda take control of MY business, MY finances, MY schedule, MY clients, MY everything. It’s pretty awesome. So what I’ll be doing instead is small group training back at the studio I train at (Body Shapers). I’ll schedule up to 3 people at a time and they’ll book sessions just like a one-on-one client would. For 3 people you’re lookin at $20 per person, per session. For 2 people it’s $30 per person, per session.
Right now the bootcamps are at 6:45am and 6pm so those time slots, or any time in that area, are open for November 1st as f right now and are first come first serve! Contact me to set up a free sessions and consultation!

These are for those of you who contact me asking me what you can do at home to lose weight/tone up. So here ya go…no gym membership needed.
And thanks to Shane O’neil for filming these! He’s been my camera man since my first Bachelorette audition tape! Hit him up on Twitter at @sdoneil!
